Jacob aranda and Vega Victoria
jacob Aranda
Jacob Aranda is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and pedal steel player from Chicago who now lives in the Bay area. In the tradition of songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen, and Jay Farrar, Jacob's music is intensely beautiful, well-crafted, and haunting. His alternative folk songs weave flawlessly between light and dark, with a lyricism that conjures forth cinematic images of landscapes both external and internal. Jacob and his band perform regularly in notable venues like The Fillmore, The Rite Spot, The Utah Hotel, Brick and Mortar, Amnesia, the Verdi Club, Starline Social Club, and others. He also plays and sings with Paula Frazer and Tarnation and the band China.
Vega Victoria
Vega Victoria is a singer-songwriter of Indie-Americana / pop music. Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, she now divides her time between the East Bay and the Mojave desert. Her recently released EP The Long Embrace was recorded and produced by Ben Tanner, member of the Grammy-award winning band Alabama Shakes. Featuring musicians Caleb Elliott, Jeremy Gibson, Adam Morrow (Belle Adair), and Ben Tanner, The Long Embrace was recorded in John Paul White's (Civil Wars) Sun Drop Sound Studio in Florence, Alabama and pulsates with ethereal longing and a driving rhythm inspired by the Muscle Shoals sound.
Opening for Jacob Aranda with her band, Vega Victoria’s songs are full of longing, mystery, and a fascination with the open road.
The video for Amber Eyes was shot in the Mojave desert and in Malibu, California by Swedish creative team Josefin and Nemo Hinders.
